Happy Birthday Simon

It was Simon's birthday on Monday 22nd Jan. We went to see Ray LaMontanye at the SECC. It was a great concert. We went with friends/lovebirds Pete and Sara. They kindly shouted us dinner as well. A great time was had by all. Alas Simon was still not feeling the best and had to take another 2 days off work on the Tuesday and Wednesday to recuperate. He had suspected glandular fever and has been pretty wiped out. Waiting the results of a blood test to see what is wrong with him. Maybe it's just old man's disease, now that he has reached the ripe old age of 32!

The saga of the broken pipe

Happy New Year! We have had a pretty adventurous few weeks into the New Year. First week in I (Keryn) was ill with the flu so was off work for a week. Then Simon caught the bug so was off, the TV blew up so he was pretty bored as had nothing to watch! On Friday 12th Jan the waste pipe on the back of the building blew off in a storm so we had to move out of our flat as we couldn't use the toilet or shower or run any water as it basically shot out the back of the building into the yard. We went and stayed with friends for 3 nights while waiting for the insurance to assess and then were moved into a hotel. We have now been out of the flat for 2 weeks with still no work completed. We have been moved into a serviced apartment which is very nice and we would happily live their forever alas we do have to move bac into our flat at some stage. Still waiting for an update from the insurance as to when the work is going to be completed. Has been pretty stressful but Thank God for insurance, we would have been completely scuppered if we didn't have it!

Here are some photos of the broken pipe.... will update when we get back into our flat.
